**Mimosas and flowers? We prefer concrete gender policies!**
The commitment to gender equality is gaining increasing importance in the modern context, with a growing number of initiatives and projects. This leads to the development of concrete practices aimed at spreading and implementing effective gender policies, not only at the national level but also internationally.
In this regard, a short video has been created to illustrate the commitment to gender equality. Through four testimonials, it explores various key aspects concerning the gender issue within an organization. The video addresses inclusion policies, female representation in technical committees, the potential offered by UNI/PdR 125:2022, and international initiatives.
One of the main themes is the promotion of effective gender policies within the organization. The testimonials highlight the importance of including female voices in decision-making processes, emphasizing how crucial it is to have gender balance at work tables. The presence of experts is not only a matter of social justice but also a step toward creating more inclusive and effective norms.
Another crucial issue is represented by UNI/PdR 125:2022, a tool that offers a structured framework for promoting inclusion and gender equity in the workplace. This reference practice provides organizations with measurable indicators and strategies for continuous improvement. The adoption of this practice is gaining increasing support, with thousands of organizations expected to be certified in accordance with UNI/PdR 125:2022 by January 2025. The primary objective is to translate statements of intent into tangible and measurable actions.
To this end, the Training Center offers courses dedicated to gender issues aimed at various professional figures, creating an opportunity for growth and learning for companies and organizations.
The role of female participation in technical committees is also important, as it is essential to ensure that standards reflect the real needs of society. Unfortunately, currently, only a minimal percentage of experts involved in the development of standards are women, but efforts are underway to increase this participation. Including diverse perspectives not only enriches the regulatory process but also leads to fairer and more representative decisions.
Attention to gender equality issues is also demonstrated through participation in initiatives such as the Libellula Foundation Network, which aims to prevent and combat gender-based violence. The workplace must also become an environment where every individual can feel protected, respected, and valued. This requires a constant commitment from all parties involved to avoid discrimination, including the more insidious forms that can arise from unconscious behaviors.
In 2024, a series of new initiatives regarding gender equality and diversity were undertaken. Among these were the publication of Guidelines for Inclusive Language, alongside the introduction of policies aimed at promoting a balance between employees’ private and professional lives.
The Charter for Equal Opportunities and Equality at Work, which has recently been adopted, underscores a further commitment to building an inclusive corporate culture capable of avoiding discrimination and prejudices while valuing pluralism.
Additionally, this year, an Ambassador Libellula will be introduced within the organization; a figure who will be tasked with raising awareness and supporting staff on issues related to gender equality. This initiative represents a significant step towards creating a more inclusive work environment.
In conclusion, gender equality is not just a matter of social justice, but a fundamental element for the progress and sustainability of organizations. It is essential that all involved parties come together to promote significant and measurable changes, creating a…
